From the modest origins of the Wentzel family to the beginnings of their printing works, from the secrets of lithography to the wealth of the catalogue of images produced locally, from the founder Jean-Frédéric Wentzel to the successors of the 20th century, from the company's major successes to its setbacks closely linked to the history of Alsace, Ex nihilo's new production retraces the incredible saga of the Wentzels who made Wissembourg one of Europe's major image-making centres in the 19th century. It's an original show in two parts, combining static and wandering parts, where you'll be immersed in the story of a century of local history through the memories of the inescapable Esperluette, whose whole life has been intertwined with the brilliant saga of Wentzel imagery!
