Theatre: 4211 km

" This play uses Yalda to tell the story of her parents, who came to France as refugees from Iran, between resilience and the search for identity. It sheds light on the struggle of women and the fight for freedom in Iran over the last 43 years. "

Only in French. 4211 km is the distance between Paris and Tehran, the distance travelled by Mina and Fereydoun who came from Iran to take refuge in France after a revolution that was stolen from them. Their daughter Yalda, born in Paris, tells us about the country she never knew, the resilience and integration of her parents, the tearing between two cultures, the search for her own identity.
At a time when women are still struggling to exist in Iran, this play has a special resonance. It sheds light on the barbarity of a regime and bears witness to the struggle that Iranian men and women have been waging for forty-three years - those who are no longer there, those who stayed and those who left. A magnificent and necessary play!
