Exhibition : 1939 - 1945 : Paroles de Sélestadiens

You will no doubt have heard stories told by your ancestors about the Second World War in Alsace: the phoney war, the Occupation, but above all the Liberation. Sélestat's municipal archives hold some of these stories. For this 80th anniversary, these little stories will illustrate the big story: the preparation and outbreak of war, the Occupation and above all the recruitment of the population, life in the cellars and the Liberation. The personal accounts of Sélestadiens are set against the official archives produced by the administration.
