There are five women from Alsace. They have all lived through war, love, the world of work, post-war industrialisation and the beginnings of the consumer society. On stage, their stories intersect. Their memories come alive to the sound of the accordion. There are bursts of laughter, unexpected notes and unexpected songs, amazement and fear, improvised slams, winks and teasing from women who ‘don't mess around’.
