Colmar Easter Festival

" Join Marc Coppey on cello in a magnificent masterclass March 27th "

We are delighted to invite you to another edition of the Colmar Easter Festival.
Great international conductors and soloists, young talents, the Prague Philharmonia, the Orchestre et Chœur Philharmonique de Strasbourg, vocal ensembles and the Quatuor Diotima are our guests, serving up a rich and contrasting programme that takes us on a journey from the music of the 16th to that of the 21st century.
One of the main themes of our programme is the piano, with three great Romantic concertos (Rachmaninov, Grieg and Brahms) performed by three of the world's greatest concerto players: Anna Tsybuleva, François Dumont and Andrew von Oeyen, in association with conductors Emmanuel Villaume and Marc Coppey. We'll also be hearing a number of recitals featuring this king of instruments.
To mark the hundredth anniversary of Gabriel Fauré's death, we will be performing his deeply moving Requiem, conducted by Ukrainian conductor Oksana Lyniv, giving vocal music pride of place this year, alongside Léo Warynski's Métaboles, the Thélème ensemble and singers from the Opéra Studio de l'Opéra national du Rhin.
Hip-hop is invited to take part in a unique encounter with baroque music, aimed at young audiences, and educational activities are also on the agenda, with several masterclasses being offered to talented young musicians from Colmar and the wider Alsace region. Following the success of last year's cello festival, we are organising a major strings festival that will bring together several dozen students and teachers from the conservatoires of Colmar, Mulhouse, Strasbourg and Saint-Louis.
Our international reputation and regional roots are combined in an open programme that never forgets the importance of transmission.
