Kientzheim

At the foot of the sub-vogiennes hills, the wine town of Kientzheim founded in the 8th century is still completely surrounded by ramparts.

The paved streets distribute half-timbered houses, castles, murals, sundials, the mill, the wash house, the fountains, the covered well of the Schwendi square ...

The castle of the lower door (the Lali) is the seat of the brotherhood of Saint Etienne d'Alsace. It hosts the Alsace wine museum.

It is the only Alsatian village currently still surrounded by ramparts.
