House of the Ami Fritz

If you come to Wissembourg, Alsace's “Little Venice”, make sure you stop and admire Ami Fritz's famous house. Built in 1550, formerly the Tanners' House, it was here that the film “Ami Fritz” was shot in 1932, with its now famous character, Erckmann-Chatrian.Make a special point of admiring the main doorway and the oriel window, both typical of Renaissance architecture in Alsace.
