Colmar, the Alsatian wine capital

Famous for its picturesque half-timbered buildings, its Romantic canals, cobbled streets and gastronomic fare, Colmar offers a condensed package of art, culture and the Alsatian way of life. Situated mid-way along the Alsace Wine Route, Colmar offers a chance to discover Alsatian wines and even has its own vineyards producing prestigious Grands Crus.

And once a year comes an opportunity to try the vast variety of Alsatian wines with one of the biggest events in the calendar: the Alsatian wine fair (Foire aux Vins d’Alsace). Every July, the fair takes over the Alsatian wine capital for 10 days of festivities, encounters, concerts, live shows and a host of other activities!
