Orschwiller

Travel through the vineyards of the Alsace Wine Route and discover Orschwiller, home of the unmissable Haut-Koenigsbourg castle which proudly overlooks the town.
Built in the 12th century and restored in the 15th, this remarkable castle is a place full of legends and history that you must discover. From there, the view over the Alsace plain and the Black Forest is unique.

Its heritage is completed by the Saint-Maurice church. Visible from afar with its long white façade, the church stands out clearly against the wooded slope of the Langenberg massif.
This neo-classical building from the end of the 18th century, designed by the architect Christiani, consists of a bell tower, a single nave and a polygonal choir set back in accordance with the usual layout of the time.
On the small promontory behind the church, an orientation table allows you to discover an exceptional landscape.
The building was listed as a historical monument in 1986, and then classified as a historical monument in 1987.
The organ, listed as a historical monument, was restored in 1988 following a fire in the church.

Orschwiller is also home to several wine estates which offer cellar visits and wine tasting. Ask to taste the vintages from the Haut-Koenigsbourg terroir, including the Grand Cru Praelatenberg, a local pride, and rightly so.

Orschwiller is also known for its Authentic Christmas Village! You will be transported into the magic of the most beautiful Alsatian Christmas! Flavours and scents, lights and emotion, refinement and simplicity await you.
Twinkling lights, authentic decorations, magical atmosphere... in Orschwiller, you will feel like you are in a Christmas story. The magic happens every two years.
