Pedal through the vineyards that have shaped the iconic villages along the Alsace Wine Route where you will discover numerous architectural treasures. From Beblenheim, you can follow the Roman road, built in ancient times to steer clear of the flooding Rhine, as it takes you to Ribeauvillé, the village of strolling fiddlers, under the watchful eye of the three surrounding castles. You will then cross through Hunawihr and its fortified church and Riquewihr, awarded the accolade of one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France with its Dolder Tower. Then wind through Kientzheim to Kaysersberg, an imperial town sitting in the shadow of the vestiges of its 13th c. castle. Finally, ride back towards Kientzheim, which still has its original ramparts and pedal through Sigolsheim to climb up to Bennwihr and back to your starting point.
