Giant crib in St Antoine Church
This giant crib revives the old Christmas traditions.
After the first crib of St. Francis in 1223, the Franciscans of Selestat built a monumental static crib in 1934, following the same principles. Under the direction of Léopold Holler OFM (1906-1985) who was the designer, initiator and director, the friends of the convent, as well as former altar boys or choirboys, created a crib that occupied a floor area of about 80 m2, with a height of 6 to 8 m.
