Kuttolsheim is home to a Tibetan Buddhist temple, an inter-regional meeting centre for members and supporters. In 1982 and 1987 the Dalai Lama, the spiritual and temporal leader of Tibetan Buddhism visited the temple of the European Sakya Tsehen Ling Institute built in 1978 in the village. Guided tours by appointment only are possible. A leader will explain Tibetan Buddhism in the conference and prayer room. Practical notes: the public will have to take off their shoes and contribute to the costs.
