Exhibition - Chemin d'art sacré
" Discover an art exhibition in the beautiful Romanesque church of Rosheim. "
An initiative of Father Charles Singer, the Chemin d'art sacré (Sacred Art Trail) was born out of a wonderful idea: to stage exhibitions of contemporary art in some of the most remarkable churches in Alsace, the Haut and Bas-Rhin, with artists creating for the site.
It's a spiritual and artistic journey offered to visitors by the artist, with a theme given as a guideline, supported by a biblical quotation. This year, the artist Jean Luc Hattemer will be exhibiting his sculptures on the theme of "We know who we are, but we have forgotten", referring to Psalm 22, 1 to 6. He has created a whole range of sculptures in keeping with his particular poetic style, which pays homage to Creation and the Creator. His "bathtub sieves" and "air baths" cleanse, separate and purify, so that each person can continue to grow.
From Wissembourg to Feldbach, the 26th edition of the Chemin d'art sacré is rich and varied, featuring 23 artists and giving pride of place to painting, as well as sculpture, photography, films, collages, pastels, paper objects, stained glass on Plexiglas, scrolls, anamorphoses...
