New wine evening at Domaines Schlumberger

At the beginning of autumn, the grape harvest offers the opportunity to taste new wine, the famous "Neier Siasser". In a convivial atmosphere, you can enjoy new wine accompanied by a gourmet platter of local produce: cold meats, bread, nuts, grapes and cheeses. Program: - Presentation of the estate and the independent winemaker's profession - Immersion in the aromas of the fermenting cellar - Tasting of new wine accompanied by a typical harvest platter Conviviality guaranteed Conviviality is an important value for independent winegrowers, and that's precisely the spirit of this event. It's yet another opportunity to (re)discover the independent winegrower and local craftsman, and to get back in touch with the dynamics of local commerce! The estate : Situated on the vertiginous slopes of Guebwiller, in the south of Alsace, with 50° slopes and an altitude ranging from 250 to 390 meters, the Schlumberger vineyard, on the mountainside, is without doubt one of the most striking in Alsace. Guebwiller is the only commune in Alsace to boast 4 Grands Crus. Half of our vineyard, or 70 hectares, is made up of these unique terroirs. Domaines Schlumberger enjoyed a remarkable boom following the First World War. Ernest Schlumberger, then manager of the estate, was able to buy back no less than 100 hectares of vines to save the Guebwiller vineyards. He then uprooted and replanted all these plots horizontally, to make it easier to work the vines. Even today, the vineyards are planted on terraces supported by dry-stone walls, a configuration that is unprecedented in Alsace!
